Rubrics and a Conversation with Andria Trivisonno of Tackk.com - HoET005

[UPDATED 1/6/18] I end each episode by saying, “using technology isn’t difficult. Just give it a try.” In this episode, I interviewed Andria Trivisonno, formerly of Tackk. Tackk allowed users to create, quick, great looking, and EASY make webpages that are great for teachers and students. Tacks had a number of great uses and Andria highlighted them!

#EdTech Thought

On March 1, 2014 my wife and I attended the West Essex Technology Symposium (WETech) at West Essex Regional HS. In this episode’s thought I share my thoughts and reflect on this free day of professional development. The keynote speaker was Dr. Joyce Valenza of the Rutgers School of Communication and Information. I attended Promoting Excellence In Education Through Social Media and Don’t Just Publish it…Broadcast it!!! These sessions were presented by Bill Krakower and Scott Rocco and Jeff Bradbury, respectively. My wife, a high school media specialist, attended a session on library maker spaces conducted by Laura Fleming.

Recommendation

Rubrics are a necessary tool for assessing student work. Rubrics make grading easier and when given to students a rubric helps to guide them in their work and lets them know exactly how they will be measured on a given task. Here are five rubric creation tools, originally posted on eLearningIndustry.com, that you should check out:
  1. RubiStar
  2. Teachnology General Rubric Maker
  3. iRubric
  4. Annenberg Learner Build a Rubric
